Eddy the JRT & Me!

Keep Learning

Hi, I’m Carine. I believe in life long learning, here I share some musings of what I’m currently curious about, may it be about the body, how the mind works, and how it all intertwines marvelously.

My Past & Influences:

I have a B.A. in Criminology from U of A, studied acupuncture in Hong Kong, began my yoga journey in 1998. I am certified as CYA-E-RYT 350 (Canadian Yoga Alliance-Experienced -Registered Yoga Teacher) and I’m a reiki master. I hold certifications in Restorative, Yin, Hot, Prenatal, Kids, and Ayurveda Yoga the Madhuri Method.

I am highly influenced by Vijnana yoga, the Feldenkrais method, and the tensegrity model sharing the therapeutic sense of joints floating in perfect tension and compression.

I share my knowledge of bio-tensegrity in tangible ways, and my classes focus on calming the nervous system and may occasionally incorporate massage balls to aid in proprioception and fascial release.

I am a legacy Lululemon ambassador of Richmond, B.C. I’ve been a guest teacher at the Semperviva 95 hour kids teacher training, and was voted Best of Richmond 2019.

Pranayama carried me through two natural childbirths – two awesome boys/young men that inspired me to teach yoga.

Happy Birthday Month

“Because you are alive, everything is possible.“Thich Nhat HanhNovember is my birthday month! What an interesting month it has been. Our Canadian elections followed by the U.S. elections that kept us in the mystery. I related these to my puppy’s teething experience. You lose some and you gain some, but more importantly, can the different … Continue reading Happy Birthday Month

Happy Howling Winds

“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the … Continue reading Happy Howling Winds
